Finalists Announced for Polk County Teacher Awards

Polk County Public Schools has announced the final group of finalists for the 2024-25 Polk County Teacher and School-Related Employee of the Year. From District 6, Cynara Appling, a science teacher at Spook Hill Elementary, has been selected as a finalist for Teacher of the Year. Alicia Velasquez, the finance secretary at Fort Meade Middle-Senior High, has been recognized as a finalist for School-Related Employee of the Year.

Polk County Public Schools has now completed its recognition of finalists from all seven districts. The overall winners will be revealed at the Inspire Awards, which will take place on November 8 at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.
