On Wednesday, October 2nd, Linden School No. 4 held an official ribbon-cutting ceremony to unveil its new playground, attended by about 60 fourth-graders. The event marked the completion of a two-year project to transform an unused space into an area for play and creativity.

Attendees included board members, Linden Mayor Derek Armstead, Superintendent Atiya Y. Perkins, district administrators, Principal Dr. Suzanne Olivero, teachers, staff, local community leaders, and students.

Mayor Armstead, who is an alumnus of School No. 4, reflected on the playground's previous state, saying, "We've never had anything as nice as this." He expressed appreciation for the collective efforts that led to the playground's creation. The mayor emphasized the importance of prioritizing the needs of children in the community and recognized Linden's diversity by describing the gathering of students as a "United Nations" of future leaders. He encouraged the students to respect each other and enjoy their time at the new playground.
