Cornell Study Uncovers Early Brain Changes

Cornell University researchers have discovered dramatic changes in the brain’s “blue spot”—a small region connected to cognition and believed to be the first area affected by neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease. The study, conducted by Cornell scientists in Ithaca, provides new insights into how the aging brain changes over the human lifespan. Understanding these changes is expected to enhance early detection methods for Alzheimer’s disease. For more information, visit Cornell.edu/Research.
