Approximately 25 staff members from the New York State Inspector General’s Office joined the Cornell Botanic Gardens team on campus today to plant red maple saplings. The tree planting event is part of New York’s goal to plant 25 million trees by 2033. Volunteers worked in two groups at two separate locations within the Cornell properties. One group planted among the trees in the Cornell Arboretum, while the other worked along the restored Dryden Rail Trail in the Gardens’ Monkey Run Natural Area. The event took place on the Ithaca campus of Cornell University in New York.
