Wake County Announces 2024-25 Principal Award Finalists

The Wake County Public School System in Apex, North Carolina, is set to announce the 2024-25 Principal and Assistant Principal of the Year today. The school system has identified ten finalists, recognized as outstanding leaders. A special celebration will take place later this evening, and the public can tune into the event starting at 5:30 p.m. for full coverage.

The finalists for Principal of the Year are:

- Melody Brunson from Sycamore Creek Elementary

- Shejuanna Jacobs from Leesville Road High

- Jackie Jordan from Enloe GT/IB Magnet High School

- Melissa McKinley from Brentwood Elementary

- Wenitra Merritt from Carver Elementary

The finalists for Assistant Principal of the Year are:

- Shari Burton from Joyner Elementary

- Molly Miller from Salem Elementary

- Melissa Oliver from Alston Ridge Elementary

- Sebastian Shipp from Millbrook Magnet High

- Lakeisha Smith from Leesville Road Middle
