Goldin to Deliver 2025 Staller Lecture at Cornell

Nobel laureate Claudia Goldin ’67 will return to Cornell University on Tuesday, September 25, to deliver the 2025 Staller Lecture. The lecture, titled “Why Women Won,” will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Schwartz Auditorium at Rockefeller Hall and is open to the public.

Goldin’s talk will examine how society has shifted from not recognizing discrimination against women to acknowledging it, albeit imperfectly. She will also discuss the impact that expanding rights has had on women, their families, and the broader economy.

The lecture series is named in honor of George Staller, Ph.D. ’57, a professor of economics who taught at Cornell from 1960 until his passing in 2009. The series was established by a gift from Russell B. Hawkins ’77 in recognition of Staller’s contributions to undergraduate education at Cornell.
