Watertown Youth Empowered by Wizarding World CARE Program

Watertown youth in Jefferson County are building skills and confidence with the Community Assets Resiliency Education (CARE) program, run by Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Jefferson County. Using a 4-H Wizarding World curriculum, the program engages participants with creative projects and community service activities.

During a recent session, youth made invisible ink and crafted wands and potion bottles, activities designed to keep them engaged and develop their communication and goal-setting skills. CARE also focuses on social-emotional well-being by using creative projects and community service to foster better relationships among youth.

Now in its second year, the program has built a network of support for local teens that includes a referral system providing additional assistance when needed.
