Hobart and William Smith Colleges celebrate Service Day
GENEVA, N.Y. — Hobart and William Smith Colleges reported a joyful spring Saturday on the Geneva campus.
As part of the Day of Service, more than 350 students volunteered in the Geneva and Finger Lakes community.
President Mark D. Gearan presented Charlie ’71 and Nancy Bauder with the President’s Medal for outstanding service to the Geneva community.
Admitted Student Day drew members of the Class of 2030 to the campus for a day of classes, discussion and discovery. Special thanks to Joseph Stein ’86, chair of the HWS Board of Trustees, and Jett Wright ’23, who work in finance and sports management respectively, who — along with Professor Lisa Yoshikawa and the students — shared their stories and advice.
The Wellness Block Party featured goat yoga, painting, lawn games and soaking up the sunshine.
In lacrosse, Heron Lacrosse defeated Union 12-7, giving Head Coach Anne Phillips her 300th career win.
