Cornell Engineering faculty and members from the Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability hosted a half-day workshop on Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) at Cornell's Ithaca campus. The event brought together scholars from various disciplines to share knowledge and ideas on advancing EGS innovations.

The workshop opened with Professor Ahmad Ghassemi from The University of Oklahoma. Professor Ghassemi, an expert in rock mechanics, led a discussion on recent advancements and practical insights in the field of EGS.

Participants attended a working session where they discussed current and prospective EGS projects. During the session, attendees reviewed newly funded proposals and explored future opportunities related to geothermal systems research.
